Early Detection Can Cure STDs

It may not be known to many, but there are sexually transmitted diseases that can be cured with proper treatment and medications. Examples of curable STDs are gonorrhea, Chlamydia, syphilis and trichomonas. Gonorrhea and trichomonas may be cured with antibiotic drugs. This can kill the bacteria that cause the disease. Chlamydia may be treated with doxycycline or azithromycin. And syphilis may be treated with a course of penicillin. However, it is not as easy as you think it is. Though these diseases are curable, they still need more medical attention than you think.

Some of these diseases are asymptomatic. This means that they are difficult to detect because they show little or no symptoms at all. The only time symptoms would show up is when the case is already severe and complications have already occurred. This is when STD testing is most important. If you are sexually active and does not practice safe sex, then you better voluntarily take an STD test before worse happens.

There are several STD testing clinics available now in the different states in U.S. And this service is also now readily available in hospitals and other local health sites. Local STD testing results may come out in a few weeks after testing is done. The results will also be the basis of the doctor on what type of treatment should be given to the patient. The length of treatment may vary depending on the severity of the disease. Cure or treatment starts with early detection. If one doubts about his or her health condition, then health sites offer fast, easy and reliable STD testing anytime. It is now made more available to people to prevent the rise of more STDs. There are even some organizations that are willing to help those STD infected people by offering a more affordable STD testing. These only shows that more and more people are getting alarmed with what STD can do to people's health. And that STD is a serious matter to attend to.

If symptoms do occur, the person may experience abnormal and smelly discharge, itching, sores, blisters lumps, bumps and pain during urinating and sexual intercourse. Once these symptoms showed up, the person should seek for immediate treatment. Treatment may depend on what disease has infected the person. The period of treatment may also depend on the intensity of the disease. If the disease is detected early, then treatment will just be short. But if it was detected in a latter time, treatment may also be extended. And if complications have already occurred, more medications should be taken by the patient. The treatment and medications given from the STD test is mainly for the STD itself only. It will not help cure or treat the complications that occurred during the time of infection. Complications may need a separate treatment and set of medications.

STD testing clinics do not only offer testing or screening but also they give and share information for people to be aware of what the disease can do to them. And also, they offer counseling for infected patients who are suffering anxiety or stress due to the disease.
