What You Need to Know About STDs

Sexually transmitted disease, known as STD in short, is a disease that spreads from individual to individual through sexual activities. It is generally incurable and the best prevention is to avoid multiple sexual partners and the advocacy for safe sex.

Several STDs are caused by viruses, bacteria and tiny parasites. Although the causes are different, they have something in common and that is a liking for sexual areas of the body of a human. (What these all have in common is a liking for the genital (sexual) areas of the human body) They are fragile organisms which do not survive for long when they are away from the body or body fluids. They either live in the external skin, tissues of the penis and vagina or in the body fluids such as semen, blood or vagina fluids. Worst of all, when a person with STD has close sexual intercourse with his or her partner, their partner may infected with it as well.
